As a Maintenance Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring our facilities, grounds, and equipment are in top-notch condition. You will provide support across the various banking facilities and will perform a variety of routine installations, repairs, construction and replacement of equipment. You have the knowledge to assess problems and make recommendations for the most efficient solutions. You have a passion for ensuring cleanliness, safety and beautification of the banking facilities. You are a friendly, organized team-member and you have a strong desire for efficiency. You can juggle tasks while keeping everything and everyone you support on time and in order.
Key Accountabilities
Facilities Appearance and Care
- Participates in renovation, remodeling, construction & repair projects.
- Performs minor repairs to building furniture and/or fixtures, performs minor plumbing repairs, minor electrical work to include cleaning electrical fixtures, replacing bulbs, and performs painting projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Performs landscaping duties including trimming, weeding, planting and watering
Dependability
- Confers with supervisor at start of each shift to determine work priorities, supplies required, and discusses work to be performed
- Cost Management
- To provide all in-house labor needed for the routine keying and pulling of locks. Will work with lock and key vendor to make the appropriate keying changes required.
- Assists the Marketing department with promotional projects as needed. This includes tent and booth setups, the displaying of signs and banners, event support, etc.
- Works with supervisor to assess work that can be completed in-house before calling upon a third party vendor.
Safety of Facilities
- Always demonstrates a thorough understanding of safety procedures.
- Assists Facilities Manager with regular audit and control functions.
- Acquires and maintains thorough understanding of security procedures; practices established procedures.
- Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the bank and/or warehouse from unnecessary risk or exposure.
- Secures lights and doors.
- Treats and removes snow and ice on/from sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.
- Cares of all bank vehicles.
- Acts as a key element in the overall maintenance department mission of guarding the bank customer's privacy by strictly monitoring the security of the on premise shred bins, to ensure they are emptied regularly, and in accordance with clearly defined procedures, to maintain the security of the contents until such time as the bank's shredding vendor receives the contents.

The individual is exposed to noise, dust, heat, cold, and other factors during the course of any given day. Prolonged standing (5- 8 hours per day) may be required. May be exposed to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel as needed throughout the Central Bank of the Midwest footprint. Any required travel is typically completed within normal business hours.

You’ve Got This
- High school education and 3+ years of job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to courteously work with co-workers and supervisor to provide information, service and other assistance, and to positively represent the bank.
- Ability to operate a broad spectrum of hand and power tools. Demonstrates familiarity and skill with landscaping tools.
- Able to use ladders, scaffolding, etc. safely and effectively.
- Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
- Must have own truck or other vehicle with space necessary to perform job specific tasks and tools necessary to complete job specific tasks.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English. Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities/duties/projects as they arise.
- Flexibility to work after regular hours and on Saturday and/or Sunday as needed.
